In September of 2024, we decided to go to Old Montreal to visit my cousin as well as to visit the old city where my ancesters immigrated from France to in 1659.
Our three day trip to Old Montreal started off with a wee schmackeral of wine bought at the front desk. It was the perfect sized bottle for just one lovely drink.
This was our hotel room at Le Dauphinais in Longueuil. It was close to the metro and easy to get to old Montreal from here. It was a lot cheaper than staying in town and was closer to my cousin's house, whom we visited. We went to see the ornate altar and Gothic Revival interior of the Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal, Quebec. Built between 1824 and 1829, this historic Roman Catholic church features stunning wood carvings, vaulted ceilings, and vibrant blue-and-gold illumination.

My ancester, Rene Cuillierier, came to New France (Ville Marie) in September of 1659. He was indentured to the Hotel Dieux through Jeanne Mance and worked for three years. During this time he was abducted by the Iroquois for 19 months of which he escaped.
We hiked up Mont Royal.
